Eligibility first
Net metering requires a three-phase connection and a sanctioned load that matches your proposed system size. Many homes discover at survey stage that a load enhancement is needed before the application can move.
The documents
Assemble these before applying; missing paperwork is the most common cause of delay.
- Copy of the latest paid electricity bill
- CNIC of the connection holder
- Single-line diagram of the proposed system
- Equipment datasheets for panels and inverter
- Installer credentials and application forms
Application, inspection and meter
After submission, K-Electric reviews the design, then inspects the installed system, then issues the agreement and installs a bidirectional meter. Expect several weeks; the exact time varies with load, area and completeness of paperwork.
How billing works afterwards
Your bidirectional meter records import and export separately. Exported units offset imported units, and surplus carries forward. Correct sizing matters because unlimited export is not the economic goal — offsetting expensive slab units is.
